Yay!! Made it through my three days on! Of course I’m getting a little suspicious, as we had ANOTHER code at the end of the night. Is it me? There have been way too many codes happening when I’m on. That’s an awful lot of running to codes. Thankfully, this patient made it. It was nice having last night on with my co-supervisor — just takes a lot of stress off of me…always an easier night.
And…my LOWEST weight for a long time!!!! I had almost given up hope that my weight would even go down at all anymore. But today it did and I could not believe it. I’m at that 30 lb weight loss now (since August). Slow going, but so worth it! I have at least another 30 lbs to lose, but I know I CAN do it now.
Great meal — homemade pizza. Love Wednesday nights because of that 🙂
A nap after dinner, another nap after dishes! And then two episodes of Queer as Folk.
A great first night off.
Meditations from the Mat (Day 81)…
~~tapas is essentially the drive to end suffering
~~tapas is simply an energy — it can work for us, or against us
~~our suffering makes us want to end our suffering
~~the will to end suffering becomes the tapas of yoga WHEN it is grounded in personal responsibility
~~the tapas of yoga is based on the idea that our suffering is caused by our REACTION to external events
~~viewed in this light, our suffering becomes our TEACHER
~~the ever-present demon becomes our ever-present teacher
~~all the yamas are possible — nonviolence, truthfulness, nonstealing, moderation, nonhoarding — all become possible
~~we always have everything we need
~~when we don’t believe this, we suffer
~~we each have our own personal trainer in our spiritual health journey in the form of our suffering
~~the greatest teacher is our constant companion…our understanding of our suffering defines the nature of our solution
Things making me happy today: done with my days on!, homemade pizza, my lowest weight!!!! (down ~ 30 lbs!!), naps, having two nights off, Queer as Folk
